What is a Fixed-Income Security? A fixed income security is an investment that provides a return in the form of fixed periodic payments and the eventual return of principal at maturity. Payments of a fixed-income security are known in advance. The most common type of fixed income securities are bonds and treasury bills

Anyone above 18years can buy fixed income securities. However, one can buy fixed income securities for a minor and hold it in trust for him or her. It can also be held in trust for family members, friends or organizations.
